Introduction
The Jewish Culture Club is a club here at Lenape that celebrates Jewish culture. Every meeting, the students in charge of the club teach the members about historic Jewish events and Holidays. Food is almost always provided at their meetings. Challah bread is always passed out, and at their Hanukkah party, there were tons of latkes, cake, and grape juice. The club also tries to do a mitzvah, which means to do a good deed in hebrew. This year’s mitzvah was a fundraiser that went towards hurricane relief, because of the hurricane that hit Florida in late 2024.
Who is in charge?
There are many students who are in charge of the club. These students include Drew Koch, Monica Patton, Ruby Lanzisera, Ryan Snider, and Ayla Grumbacher. The club advisor is Mrs. Wolf.
Is it only for Jewish people?
No, the Jewish Culture Club isn’t just for Jewish people. It is for anyone who wants to appreciate and learn more about Jewish culture.
Why you should join
You should join this club because it is fun, and you might even learn something new. At every club meeting, there are always plenty of snacks to go around, and everyone is always laughing and having a good time with their friends.
Q&A
I interviewed Mrs. Wolf, and asked her multiple questions about her club.
Q: Did you start the club, and if so, why?
Mrs. Wolf: A few students approached me last school year and expressed interest in starting the Jewish Culture Club.
Q: Do you think it is important for people to talk about Jewish culture?
Mrs. Wolf: I feel it is important to give Jewish students a space to connect with their heritage, build a Jewish community at Lenape High School, and explore that Jewish identity. It also gives non-Jewish students a place to learn about the Jewish culture and holidays that are celebrated by friends.
Q: What are your future plans for the club?
Mrs. Wolf: Plans for the Jewish Culture Club are to continue celebrating Jewish holidays and culture and share information with the rest of the school.
The Jewish Culture Club is a great place to learn about Jewish culture, try new foods, and hang out with friends. It is important to experience new things, and this club will help you with that in a fun and exciting way.
