This year’s Junior Dinner Dance brought the Class of 2027 together for a night of dancing, good music, getting dressed up, scrumptious food, and class bonding. The beloved annual event was held this year at Adelphia’s in Deptford, New Jersey on April 17th, running from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. This venue was elegant and decorated nicely to further encourage the classy tone for this spectacular night. The theme for this year’s Junior Dinner Dance was A Night On Mount Olympus and it was completed with decorations and colors to fit the mood. This event gave the students an opportunity to bond outside of a classroom and outside of Lenape High School walls. All students of the junior class got a chance to kick back for the night and enjoy themselves with their peers.
Not only do students get to enjoy a night of dancing and fun, they also get to participate in the festivities leading up to this dinner dance. Many of the attendees started celebrating early, hanging out with and getting ready with their friends right after school.This is often followed by meeting up with larger groups to take pictures with before the dinner dance so they can remember this night for years to come. These small group events beforehand add to the anticipation of the dance and make everyone even more excited.
A new trend that many groups of girls tend to participate in is making bouquets with their friend groups. Instead of going out and buying bouquets and boutonnieres from a store, many groups choose to get individual flowers and mix and match with one another to make their bouquets for pictures a few nights beforehand. This creates an enjoyable experience with friends out of something that is typically just seen as a quick trip to the store.
The Junior Dinner Dance had something for everyone. Whether you wanted to dance the night away on the dance floor, enjoy the music from the dj, chit-chat with friends, or are an avid foodie that enjoyed the many choices for a main course. And we cannot forget about dessert! Adelphia’s provided platters of small desserts for each table, giving everyone sitting there several different sweet treats to choose from. They were not limited with the main course options either having a large walk up buffet of options to choose from. The Class of 2027 advisors also posted a link on the instagram account giving students the opportunity to request their favorite songs to be played by the DJ. The goal of making this night all about the students was executed perfectly!
This night allowed the students to make memories that will last a lifetime and get closer as a class. I know the class greatly appreciates the staff for making this night as wonderful as it was. As Junior Year begins to come to an end, this gives the class of 2027 one last chance to do something all together before they return next year as seniors!
