I am very excited to be writing for the Smoke Signal this year. Although I wanted to be a journalist in fourth grade, I never really discovered the thrill of writing until my United States history class, when I added a unique voice to essays about what could be very dry topics. In fact, over the past two years, I have discovered a good essay is never complete without some mention of a raging political issue or the Constitution. With that aside, I am looking forward to a great year and cannot wait to speak to you through the medium that changed our nation and the world: the newspaper!
